When trying to decide if you are going to put on that room addition, replace flooring or re design your bathroom, a more economic option could be an interlocking paver patio.
Most room additions can cost anywhere between $100 per sqft. to $200 per sqft compared to a paver patio that can be $10 to $14 a sqft.
Some additions can be a little confining, compared to a paver patio that can accommodate more guests, actually opens up to the outdoors and extends the beauty of your home to outside. Why not create a space or addition that is different than the average?more
When it comes to hiring a concrete paver company you should consider 3 major factors.
The first is experience.. no one wants to be the experimental job for a company, trying to learn on the job. Accu-Brick has thousands of jobs under its’ belt and is ready to help you plan your next hardscape project. That being said, we have come across many complicated situations over the years that have made us the professionals we stand by today.
That leads me to the second factor to consider, and that is longevity. You want o make sure that the company you trust with your investment will be in business for the long haul. What may look like a job well done at first can quickly turn into a disaster in a year or two down the road if it is not installed properly. A truly good installer will not bat an eye at offering an extended warranty for installation which will allow your investment to be protected for a longer period of time. Accu-Brick provides a standard 5 year warranty with all installations and will offer up to a 25 year warranty in some cases.
The last factor to...more
Many people get so used to looking at their old faded, cracked pool decks, patios and driveways that when considering a remodel of those areas, the thought of newer concrete actually makes them feel better…just like a band aid..and the idea of poring new concrete again will be just that..a band aid.
Through our experience we have had this conversation, one too many times and what we have learned is that the fear and costs associated with removing their existing surface is what keeps them from discovering other paving system options.
Unlike the band aid, the paver overlay paving option is a permanent and forever lasting remodeling solution that Accu-Brick has mastered over the years. In most cases, our motarless concrete paver system can be laid right on top of existing concrete or asphalt.more
Even though your paver driveway or patio is maintenance free, sealing your pavers is an option that we recommend. Most sealers are topical and will wear off with time, which will give a discolored look in areas, however, the product that we use is specific to our company and there is nothing like it on the market.more
Paver are for the more expensive home is like saying “my home has a limit to how nice it can be”.
There are many different styles and price points when installing pavers. You can do smaller areas and the price can be very comparable to stamped concrete, yet with pavers you will never have to worry about cracking or staining.more
It’s been a long winter and spring is upon us. You look out your back door and start to envision the new layout for your backyard oasis. In the corner of your eye you spot the Johnson’s hard at work pressure washing and re-staining their deck that was built just last year. You then look over to the Smith’s and they are sitting, drinking coffee on their beautiful paver patio, that was installed 15 yrs. ago and seems to get better looking with age.
It seems these day’s people do things because they see other people doing it, the “keeping up with the Joneses’” syndrome. Sometimes you don’t realize the options you have and what might be best for your own space.more
Whether you are building a house or planning to renovate, the last thing on your mind should be, “how do I not get what I really want”? For Instance, if it is a driveway you are thinking about installing, then ask an experienced company in that field, how you achieve the look, longevity and versatility you are seeking. Many people make the mistake of thinking for the “now” and not for the future, or as we often refer to it as the “band aid” decision. What does a concrete or asphalt driveway look like down the road? Not being able to stop the cracking, rapid deterioration should all be considered when making a driveway surface decision.more
So you saw a paver project being done on HGTV last night and it’s got you thinking? Most likely the ideas that are floating through your head is it will be like putting tile down on the floor in your basement..right? Wrong..what you need to know and should heavily consider before tackling a concrete paver project is that the materials themselves are extremely heavy. Most pallets of pavers (approx 100 sqft) can weigh over 3000 pounds.
For example, a 500 sqft patio would involve lifting and carrying and carrying again, 15,000 pounds of concrete pavers, which does not include the 12,000 pounds of gravel and the 5000 pounds of bedding materials, needed to sit under the pavers. According to my calculations that weight is the equivalent to (2) contractor dump trucks carrying 2 African bush elephants in the back of them!more
First I want to say, “Why would you even do that”. Everyday I drive through all types of housing developments and wonder why anyone would have concrete or asphalt for a driveway. I see all the cracking and staining in concrete and all the splitting and breaking of asphalt. There is continuous maintenance and eventually repair or replacement of your driveway.more
The feeling that you get as you come home and pull into your driveway or sitting on your backyard patio that has been done with interlocking pavers is one of complete satisfaction.
You are the envy of your neighbors that are usually quick to ask “who did the work” and how quickly they can have theirs done.more
For anyone that has ever purchased or sold a home, the first impressions are most important. These impressions are the ones that stay with us the longest. You pull up to a house and the first thing you notice is the cracked, stained driveway. People spend countless hours and expense manicuring their yards but do nothing to their driveway.
A Paver driveway will become the focal point of your property. A driveway should be a courtyard, not an ugly looking runway. We had a client actually purchase a smaller car to be able to show off more of their driveway… true story! Another client thought of renting his house because they spend all of their time on their outdoor paver patio... funny but true!more
A lot of times when talking to folks about paving systems, whether it's an outdoor living space, driveway or pool deck, the conversation will turn to the investment involved and return on that investment. People are simply, and rightfully curious if when deciding to go with pavers as their choice of paving system, are they going to get out of it in return, the little more they may invest over traditional concrete or asphalt choices.more
